Information for Members This is the WRAP members' area. Access it by clicking on one of the small logos at the bottom of the left-hand column on the main pages. Topics covered on this page are listed below. Joining WRAP A rescue volunteer application is now available. Completed applications should be sent to a board member. Please be sure you are familiar with the policies and guidelines. They will answer many questions you may have about WRAP operations. Rescue forms are available in PDF and MS Word formats. You must have the program Adobe Acrobat to open PDF files. To download a free copy of the program, click here. Access WRAP's forms by clicking on the FORMS link here or at the top of this page. All WRAP rescue dogs must be microchipped before release to new owners. To obtain a chip for your rescue, contact Board Member Dr. Barbara Henderson at whippoorwill01@verizon.net, phone 301-490-6598. She will mail you a syringe loaded with a microchip. You may inject the chip yourself or have your veterinarian insert it. See Avid Chip Request on the forms page. CHANGE: After ownership has been transferred from WRAP to the new owner, you must provide Barbara with: Complete name, address, and phone
number of the new owner She will send in the registration to enter the whippet in the AVID pet tracking system. The new owner will be registered as the first contact, your name as rescuer will be entered as the second contact, and Barbara will be listed as the veterinarian. The new owner will receive confirmation about three weeks after the form is submitted. Neither you as the rescuer nor the new owner needs to contact Avid. When the 800 number on the tag is called, the owner's name will come up, with rescuer and Barbara listed as backup. Every WRAP dog is also provided with a leash and collar. To get a leash and collar for your rescue dog, visit Kay Nierengarten's website at Northwind - http://www.northwindcatalog.com/martingale_collars.htm. Choose a collar and lead and order directly from the site. Kay will bill WRAP. If you need approval for a rescue expense (see the guidelines for expenses which do not need approval), contact Board Member Jean Schroeder at willabe@netnitco.net, phone 219-733-9480. Receipts/requests for reimbursements and any other WRAP paperwork should be mailed to Jean at Jean Schroeder All other paperwork (completed adoption applications, owner releases, adoption contracts, etc) must be kept on file by the rescuer permanently. New rescue dogs should be reported on the Yahoo email list and also to Lori Rose at FreeRangeWhippets@comcast.net, phone 503-245-1393. Please provide as much information as you can and a digital or scanned photo if possible. Let Lori know when the dog will be ready for adoption and she'll post it on the website. To update your roster contact information, report problems with the website, or make suggestions about the site, contact Ruth Beall at rhbeall@hotmail.com. The whippet-rescue email list at Yahoo is the primary method for WRAP members to stay in touch, report rescues or adoptions, get help with rescue problems, and discuss changes in the organizations. All WRAP members with email access are expected to be members. To change your email address or your list delivery options, please send commands to the list yourself.
